Sound Training Online has announced the release of two new courses, covering Ableton Live and Native Instruments Maschine 2.0.
Sound Training Online courses are run in association with Dublin-based Sound Training College, which recently began offering online music production courses for students outside of the Irish Republic. The Sound Training College incorporates an number of high-profile Irish facilities, including Grouse Lodge Recording Studios, Temple Lane Studios and the Button Factory live venue.
Both the Ableton Live and Maschine 2.0 courses start on 13 October. Ableton Live with Martin Clancy takes a comprehensive look at the main functions of the music sequencer and DAW software, and is tailored for students who are new to Ableton, promising to “quickly familiarise [them] with the software’s many features”. The course is delivered by certified Ableton instructor Martin Clancy, a Dublin/New York-based producer, musician, programmer and lecturer.
Music Production in Maschine 2.0 with Will Kinsella is a six-week programme that covers all aspects of producing music within Native Instruments’ Maschine 2.0 software. By the end of the course, learners will have created their own fully mixed arrangement in Maschine and learnt how to integrate the software into their existing production setup. The course is taught from the perspective of the Maschine software, but also demonstrates how to use the Maschine hardware controller in order to “effectively increase your workflow”.
Sound Training Online’s Electronic Music Production with Full Tilt course, which covers “everything you need to know to start producing music using Logic Pro X”, will also resume on 11 November. Students who sign up in October will receive a 10 per cent discount.
