British composer, producer and songwriter Guy Sigsworth has upgraded his London-based studio with Unity Audio Rock MkII studio monitors.

Sigsworth’s intricate and sophisticated programming and arrangements can be heard on the recordings of Seal, Björk, Goldie, Madonna, Britney Spears, Imogen Heap (partnering in the band Frou Frou), Bebel Gilberto, David Sylvian, and Alison Moyet. He has also collaborated with many musicians including Talvin Singh, Jon Hassell and Lester Bowie.

The Rock is a 2-way nearfield active monitor that features a 7” woofer and a 50kHz folded ribbon tweeter designed by ELAC. The sealed cabinet uses baltic birch plywood and a large 12mm Corian front baffle. The Rock is equipped with a 100W discrete bi-polar low feedback amplifier with custom wound transformers designed by amp guru Tim de Paravicini of Esoteric Audio Research.

Sigsworth says: “I really, really like my Rocks. Clear, detailed and honest.”

Unity Audio's head of sales and marketing Paul O’Farrell-Stevens adds: “Guy evaluated the Rocks at his Tileyard based studio whilst working on a complex project with extreme amounts of vocal layering. The Rocks were the only monitors he could trust to mix the project.”
