Here’s something you didn’t know. In 2011, a number of US organisations concerned with promoting electric cars created ‘National Plug In Day’. Nissan LEAF owners must have wet themselves.
While that annual September event has become National Drive Electric Week, software developer Waves Audio has decided to create its own ‘Plugin Day’ – and it’s this Thursday, 8 October 2015.
Waves Audio has been making plug-ins for 23 years, ever since the introduction of the Q10 Equalizer, recognised as the world’s very first paragraphic EQ, for which Waves was inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame. Waves has gone on to be the biggest developer of audio plug-ins in the world: over 200 in fact, including industry standards such as the L1 and L2 Ultramaximizers, popular vintage console models, and mixing tools like Waves Vocal Rider and the Artist Signature Series. For its accomplishments, Waves received a Technical Grammy in 2011.
Waves plans to celebrate its success this Thursday with a dedicated ‘Plugin Day’ on waves.com.
The “online good-times” will include a behind-the-scenes documentary video about the company, plugin- and audio-related social games, and over 300 new presets to download from top producers, mixing engineers and DJs, including Dave Pensado, Greg Wells, Afrojack, John Cooper and others. There will also be contests with various prizes, including the Waves Mercury bundle, Waves gift cards, and a variety of Plugin Day specials.
Are there any freebies, you ask? Waves would not answer the question directly, but told us simply to “wait and see”…
