Danish-based Dynaudio unveiled its latest range of monitoring solutions at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt.
The company’s BM series was introduced around 15 years ago and following several improvements, the expanded range now includes the BM Compact mkIII, BM5 mkIII, BM6 mkIII and BM12 mkIII and the BM9S II and BM14S II subwoofers.
The new products feature XLR and RCA input connectors as well as an auto-standby mode, with the smaller BM Compact mkIII and BM5 mkIII models both featuring expanded frequency response and improved SPL due to improvements to the design of the drivers and the addition of Class D amplifiers.
Global brand manager for Dynaudio Professional Fred Speckeen (pictured), says: “We are tremendously proud of this next step in the evolution of the Dynaudio Professional product range, a brand that has been chosen by ear by the world’s most discerning studio professionals and broadcasters.“
It was also revealed at the press conference that each of the new monitors will come with an IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R acoustic isolation stand. IsoAcoustics isolation stands allow the monitor to “float,” eliminating energy transfer to surrounding surfaces.
“Poor isolation and positioning can prevent even the best monitors from reaching their full potential. For the new BM mkIII series we were determined to deliver our new monitors with the best isolation solution included, so we evaluated a wide range of available solutions until we heard IsoAcoustics, we thought we’d just do it ourselves,” adds Speckeen.
Founder and president of IsoAcoustics, Dave Morrison concludes: “We are very pleased that this world-leading manufacturer is recognising the importance of acoustic isolation as a crucial part of monitor performance, and not just an aftermarket solution.”
The new BM mkIII range is available from April 2014.
