Loudspeaker manufacturer, PMC, has announced the unveiling of the twotwo sub1 subwoofer at NAMM 2014. The low-distortion, active subwoofer features the ALT bass loading technology, CLASS D amplification and DSP-based filtering and bass management.
It can accept digital signals at any sample rate up to 192kHz. This is owed to an AES3 XLR input with a built-in high-quality sample rate converter. An amplifier is built into the sub that delivers 400w with an active frequency response from 22Hz up to 200 Hz. The subwoofer can be used in a 2.1 configuration with twotwo series monitors in order to gain extra bass and headroom. The sub features a pair of balanced, stereo analogue XLR inputs. Both sets of inputs are always active irrespective of which sources are connected. It is possible to switch between the sources from the rear panel or by using the optional desktop twotwo remote. www.pmc-speakers.com
