UK: Dynamic studio management group Miloco has added another facility, The Motor Museum, to its roster, writes David Davies. Situated in Liverpool, The Motor Museum (pictured) has previously provided a venue for landmark recordings by Oasis, The La’s, Arctic Monkeys and The Coral, and is now being run by Miloco in partnership with producer/engineers Mike Crossey and Jim Anderson.
The studio management group’s first-ever studio based in Liverpool, The Motor Museum occupies a 240 square metre warehouse that is blessed with natural daylight. At the heart of the facility is a large live room, refitted in 2008, along with a vocal booth and a stone room that is said to be “particularly brilliant” for drum sounds. Located at the back of the warehouse, the control room is centred around a Neve 8232 In-Line Analogue Recording Console with 32 in-line Channels, a Pro Tools HD5 Accel rig with 48 in/outs, and a comprehensive selection of outboard equipment and plug-ins.
“The studio is based in a large and inspiringly themed warehouse in the trendy Lark Lane district of South Liverpool, meaning that the Miloco group now provides one of the most creative recording experiences in North West England,” says Miloco’s Tor Wadwa, to whom Motor Museum enquiries or booking requests should be directed on +44 (0)20 7232 0008 or email@example.com.
The addition of The Motor Museum to Miloco’s studio management portfolio is only the latest development in an eventful 12 months that has also seen the company take on Flood and Alan Moulder’s Assault and Battery 2 in North West London, among several other facilities.
In other recent news, Miloco has announced that Alpha Centauri – a mix room located in the Battery complex – is available for a limited time only at a rate of _500 per 12-hour day (including assistant). Based around an SSL SL4060 G+ console, the Alpha Centauri set-up also includes speakers from Dynaudio, ATC, Auratone and Yamaha.
Miloco notes: “The design and acoustics of the room have been carefully tuned by Munro Acoustics and produce an extraordinarily detailed sonic purity.”
Booking requests and enquiries for Alpha Centauri should be directed to Linda Dixon at the Miloco office on +44 (0)20 7232 0008 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
