iTunes U world first for Point Blank

Point Blank recently became the first music college in the world to be accepted for Apple’s iTunes U

Independent London music college Point Blank is the first of its kind to join the impressive international list of Universities and Colleges that distribute higher educational content on Apple’s iTunes U.
Housed in Apple’s iTunes Store, iTunes U is Apple’s higher education facility designed to distribute information to students and faculty; and is in use at the world’s most illustrious Universities and Colleges including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and Yale. On November 16th Point Blank broke the mould as its music production streaming content was published live for the first time on iTunes U, making the Hoxton-headquartered facility the first independent music college to successfully combat Apple’s stringent selection process by launching its own iTunes U site. Point Blank delivers around 300 production courses each year to more than 1,500 students – both at its headquarters and online; and managing director Jules Brookes says this recent breakthrough will provide even more opportunities. “It’s exciting to be involved with iTunes U,” says Brookes. “It allows us to access the audience of iTunes, which is considerable; and has also been a learning curve digitally. We’re in good company.”
