UK: Trade in your old Yamaha NS10s and recoup _200 towards the cost of a pair of JBL Professional LSR4300 monitors. That, in a nutshell, is the new offer devised by distributor Harman Pro UK, reports David Davies.

The new initiative follows the strong response to an earlier deal that encouraged live sound professionals to trade in their Bose 802 cabinets for JBL VRX932s.

"We had such a great reaction to our VRX932 offer that we decided to apply a similar deal to studio professionals in order to encourage them to upgrade to the award-winning LSR Series," says Harman UK sales director Gary Dent. "The offer is very straightforward: we will refund _200 to the end user when we receive their old NS10s back from the dealer from whom they purchase their LSRs. The offer applies to every pair of LSRs purchased, whatever price you've negotiated for them."

Featuring JBL's Room Mode Correction technology, the LSR4300s are billed as "the ultimate monitor for modern production studios".

"We recognise that many people would like to upgrade their existing speakers to superior and more up-to-date technology, yet are deterred by cost," continues Dent. "This offer is designed to encourage them to make the transition by providing an easy and cost-effective upgrade path. The LSRs already have a very competitive retail price, and we know a lot of customers are seriously interested. We think this offer could seal the deal for many more sales."
