The Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (VDT – German Tonmeister Association) has announced its call for contributions for the 27th Tonmeistertagung (tmt27) taking place in Cologne, Germany on 22-25 November 2012. The biennial international professional convention and exhibition will be held at the Congress Centrum Nord of the Koelnmesse exhibition center this year, leaving its former venue at the CCL in Leipzig. VDT is expecting a “noticeable increase” in visitors at this year’s event, due to the ease of access to Cologne from the Benelux countries, Frankfurt, and the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area. The previous conference, presented in 2010, drew 3200 visitors, 289 lecturers and 225 exhibiting companies. Audio professionals are invited to submit proposals for papers, posters, workshops, talk back sessions (discussion and review of recorded material), product contributions, roundtables, and tutorials; proposals in English are especially encouraged. A full list of intended topics for this year’s convention are available on the tmt27 website. The submission period for the majority of contribution types will end on 12 July 2012; however, exhibitors can still submit posters and product reports until 31 July. www.tonmeister.de
