Producer Mike Pelanconi has partnered with Miloco Studios to relaunch Drumdrops, an online shop for multi-tracked drum tracks and loops. The site now features online purchasing, 200 new multitracks and two new albums worth of material. "The reason for starting Drumdrops was simple, I love beats and well recorded drums,” said Pelanconi. “In my early days of recording I found producers intimidated by recording drums, I discovered I could express myself with out upsetting the studio protocol.” "Fast forward to 2011… I had amassed a massive catalogue and was overloaded with drums; I needed help to convert the catalogue and needed more engineers to edit and mix down for me. Having worked alongside Miloco in the studio business for years it seemed obvious to ask them for help in recruiting fellow drum perverts.” All Drumdrops tracks are played on vintage kits such as Ludwig, Sonor and Gretsch, and played by some of the best drummers in the business: Style Scott (Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, Israel Vibration); Horseman (Max Romeo, Little Roy, Jah Shaka, Mad Professor); Nasser Bouzida (Blow Up records); Jan Kincaid (Brand New Heavies); and Tim Weller (Goldfrapp, The Chemical Brothers, Death in Vegas). Tracks have been recorded on vintage Neve, API, Helios or Focusrite consoles with Pultec and Lang EQs, Neve, Pye and Fairchild compressors, using vintage AKG, Neumann and Telefunken mics, and captured on 2” tape. "Drumdrops is one of the areas that Miloco wants to move into which utilises our core studio business. We loved the existing Drumdrops catalogue. Mike has produced one of the highest quality sounding drum track catalogues available and his ethos to use great drummers, amazing sounding studios, vintage gear, 2" tape and incredible producers aligns nicely with ours,” said Miloco MD Nick Young. www.drumdrops.com
