US: Community Professional is building on the success of its Sonus loudspeakers with new powered S-Series models, writes PSN-e. The six new models will use high-efficiency Class D amplifiers, intended to improve performance, generate less heat and better the loudspeakers' reliability.

"In the year since its debut, Sonus has become one of our most popular loudspeaker lines," explained Julia Lee, Community's director of sales and marketing. "We're pleased to expand this line-up into the S-Series to include both passive and active versions of each model."

The new loudspeakers were debuted at the recent InfoComm exhibition in Las Vegas. The S-1296A and S-1596A are two-way models with 400W of low-frequency power and 100W high-frequency amplification. The S-3294A and S-3594A three-way models add 100W mid-range amps, while subwoofers complete the new range, with single 1000W amplifiers in the dual 15" S-215SA and dual 18" S-218SA models.

The new series loudspeakers also offer DSP including four user-selectable preset voicings, a Mic/Line sensitivity switch, and built-in high pass switch for integration with an S-Series subwoofer. The factory settings feature steep crossover slopes, up to 10 equalization filters per driver, and multiple limiters.
