Bandcamp has started a vinyl pressing service, revolutionising vinyl to present independent music that otherwise wouldn’t necessarily reach this luxurious form of media.

Until now, any physical media sold via Bandcamp had to be paid for and distributed by the artists themselves, but with this new “risk-free, hassle-free” service, the artists can crowdfund their work and the rest will be covered by Bandcamp.

The new pressing service will be financially supported by fans that pledge the artists' campaigns, and the campaigns that reach their target will be pressed, printed and shipped by Bandcamp. Despite this, Bandcamp will not take any ownership of the finished product.

The service will be offered globally later this year, but Bandcamp are demonstrating how it will work with an initial four releases.
