UK: Vipedia is billed as a pioneering life safety rated networked DSP audio system, reports PSN-e. Vipedia is ASL’s first product for the pro-audio industry and has been developed specifically to bridge the gap between pro-audio networks and life safety systems.
The modular Vipedia system conforms to all standards for voice alarm systems. Software and hardware are partitioned for life safety and non-life safety functions, while the system is powered by the VIPA software engine.
Providing digital networking capacity suitable for pro-audio installers working on major stadia, airport and rail terminus projects, Vipedia includes a number of flexible audio networking technologies that enable the construction of large distributed systems and integration with professional high-power amplifiers. In particular, the adoption of Audinate’s Dante network protocol has enabled the first collaboration with Lab.gruppen, whose PLM Series Powered Loudspeaker Management systems can be integrated seamlessly with Vipedia.
“Vipedia is really the bridge between our world of life safety and voice alarm, and the professional audio world of digital networking and signal processing,” said ASL sales and marketing director Richard Lack. “As audio and network infrastructures become evermore complex, we had to find a way of integrating voice alarm requirements into the audio system and vice versa without compromise on either side. Vipedia is the answer.”
