Indie Hub is a new co-working space in Milan, focused solely on music production. In addition to desk space that can be rented out, the facility includes a recording studio, with a 200sqm live room designed by Milan-based acoustician Dario Paini.

After testing several consoles, Indie Hub’s Andrea Dolcino opted for a 16-channel API 1608 analogue console for the studio control room.
“I was looking for a brand new console, not a used one, and for the budget that I had the API had the most character,” said Dolcino. “The sound was the most transparent, and when you hear music made on an API in your car or on home equipment, I’m sure I can hear something ‘more’ than on other consoles that I’ve tried in that price range.”
Throughout the spring, Indie Hub will be previewing its new facility by hosting a series of private invitation-only in-house concerts in the studio’s live room.
