UK: Roadshow events organised by Harman Pro UK in Liverpool and Guildford this Wednesday and Friday, respectively, will offer visitors the opportunity to win a limited edition AKG C414 microphone worth _1000, reports PSN-e.

The chance to check out the latest gear from Harman Pro companies - including AKG, BSS Audio, Crown, dbx, JBL, Lexicon and Soundcraft - and put your questions to Harman product specialists are among the other incentives to attend.

Additionally, the evening PA School sessions will offer visitors the opportunity to learn how to set up a live PA from Harman's live sound specialists. Anyone attending these events can enter into a prize draw to win an anniversary edition AKG C414, with one microphone up for grabs at each location.

A mere 2007 units of the special edition AKG C414 are to be produced this year, which sees AKG celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Visitors will also receive vouchers entitling them to a 10% discount on selected gear from Harman Group companies, including the AKG D5 and C5 on-stage microphones, any of Soundcraft's EPM- and MPM-series mixers, Lexicon's MX-series reverb processor and dbx's 166XL dual compressor/limiter/gate.

Harman Pro UK announces two new training initiatives

UK: Harman Pro UK had announced details of another training day for live sound engineers wishing to find out more about the Soundcraft Vi6 digital live sound console (pictured). The event will be held a week this Friday (March 7th) at the head office of SSE Audio in Redditch. Also on an educative tip, Harman Pro UK has announced that it is to begin a regular series of free industry training sessions aimed at improving PA-related knowledge amongst retailers, with the first event to take place at the company's headquarters in Potters Bar on April 16th, writes David Davies.

AKG Unsigned Heroes final rescheduled for June 1st

UK: The sudden split of prospective headline act The Cooper Temple Clause scuppered the originally scheduled finale of AKG's Unsigned Heroes event in late April, but now the end really is in sight for the 2007 contest with distributor Harman Pro UK announcing that the final will now take place prior to Club NME at London's KOKO on Friday June 1st. Unsigned Heroes has focused on "the MySpace community" in its bid to track down the best as-yet unsigned band in the UK and Eire.
