422 has acquired two Pro Tools HD workstations with an S6-m10 16-fader configuration desk from audio specialists Mediaspec UK.
422, a full service post-production company based in Manchester and Glasgow, provides a comprehensive range of facilities and creative services for television, film and advertising. The new workstations and mixing desk have been acquired for their Glasgow base. With network dramas such as Murder, comedies like Two Doors Down, and numerous documentary series for Discovery, Sky, Channel 4, ITV and the BBC, 422 is a major player in Scotland’s post-production industry.
Their dubbing mixers have a list of credits for award-winning advertising campaigns, network drama and children’s and entertainment programmes.
John Cobban, dubbing mixer at 422, says: “Scotland has a very competitive post-production environment, similar to London. The Avid S6s and our new Pro Tools HDs have provided us with a smoother and faster workflow, integrating seamlessly with 422’s Avid Offline, Online and Grading Suites. With this new technology we have more time and flexibility to concentrate on being creative.”
William Cory, also a dubbing mixer at 422, adds: “422 is privileged to be involved in a wide range of post-production work, including the Sci-Fi series Eve, which the sound department received an RTS Award for Best Sound, and it continues to work on its third series. 422 also recently completed the post on three feature-films: Seat In Shadow, A Reykjavik Porno and Pale Star, which premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival, receiving rave reviews.”
Speaking of the new installation, Eric Joseph, MD of Mediaspec UK, says: “This latest acquisition by 422 in Glasgow demonstrates the strength of their position within the post industry and the strong position of post-production facilities in Scotland. 422 is busy and thriving, and that requires the best and most reliable audio equipment in order to be effective for its clients. The addition of the Avid S6 desk allows them to continue to meet the demands of a growing business.”
