SSE Audio Group, an audio rental production company, has acquired Luminex GigaCore 26i network switches to become one of the largest providers of Milan AVB-compliant networking solutions.
Avnu Alliance Milan AVB certified switches offer guaranteed interoperability amongst similarly certified devices in a network, such as products by L-Acoustics, Meyer Sound and d&b audiotechnik brands that are stocked by SSE.
Keith Sujeeun, assistant technical manager in SSE’s hire division commented: “SSE always strives to be at the forefront of technology, and the Luminex GigaCore range gives us the ability to offer a Milan-compliant infrastructure at an early stage of its development.”
He continued: “The GigaCores are purpose-designed for our industry and the switches are so quick to set up or re-configure. Being able to reset them to a default preset saves a lot of time when prepping them to go out on another event. When making an investment like this, it’s important for us to make sure that the equipment has the capability to handle the ever-growing complexities of the projects we encounter. The 26i units offer plenty of ports to future-proof our investment.”
SSE’s hire division specified Luminex GigaCores for the recent Madness winter UK Arena tour, which culminated in a performance at Central Hall, Westminster for the BBC’s New Year’s Eve 2018 ‘Rock Big Ben Live’ annual concert, which was broadcast on BBC One.
Summarising SSE’s purchase, Sujeeun concluded: “We are really satisfied with our investment in the Luminex GigaCore switches. As well as being extremely industry-friendly, we believe they will enable SSE to remain at the cutting edge of audio networking solutions for many years to come.”
The GigaCore products were supplied to SSE Audio by the specialist Audio sales division of A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd. (AC-ET), the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Luminex.
