UK: The first 'Mixing with Professionals Live' events will take place at the Soundcraft Studer factory in Hertfordshire on December 18, reports David Davies. The free sessions are being organised by Soundcraft in conjunction with the console company's UK distributor, Sound Technology.

The events are oriented towards professionals wanting to learn more about the Soundcraft Vi Series, those making the transition from analogue to digital desks, and engineers who are new to the live sound business.

The half-day sessions - one in the AM and one in the PM - will focus on the use of the Soundcraft Vi Series for live sound mixing and will feature contributions from Deep Purple FOH engineer and Vi Series aficionado, Gert Sanner. A factory tour, light lunch and refreshments are also included.

Soundcraft's Dave Neal tells PSN-e: "Live sound professionals who are making the transition from analogue to digital will hear about the benefits of digital (of course, in particular about Soundcraft consoles), while those familiar with digital consoles already will gain an insight into the Soundcraft Vi and Si Series of desks and their benefits for tour sound engineers. Touring the Soundcraft Studer factory will give an amazing technological insight into how these consoles are produced."

Only 15 places are available per session. To register, email soundcraft@harman.com (subject heading: Mixing with Professionals Live (SoundTech)) with your request for either the morning or afternoon session.
