As the academic year comes to a close, second and third year sound course students at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts) were supported by Shure on their end of year production of Into The Woods.
Sound course students at RADA study sound design, production sound engineering, radio engineering and film location recording. At the end of every year, the students can put their skills to the test with a hands-on theatre production, allowing them to gain experience in industry roles, with industry standard equipment.
As part of its commitment to supporting the next generation of audio professionals, Shure continues to partner with RADA, providing students with real-life training in skills that will make them more employable at the end of their education.
The company supported the end of year show with brand new technology including, Axient Digital, Shure’s flagship digital wireless microphone system and Twinplex, dual diaphragm lavalier microphones.
The full equipment list included six channels of Axient Digital, 4 x AD4Q’s, AXT 600 spectrum manager, AD610 ShowLink, 16 ADX1-M micro bodypack transmitters and 16 x TL45 Twinplex lavalier microphones.
Steve Mayo, head of sound, RADA, comments: “The partnership between Shure and RADA has been running for a number of years and the experience and knowledge that the students pick up is incredibly important so that the equipment they use here is the equipment they use in the industry.”
