Shure is presenting audio innovations at ISE 2019, booth 3-B110. These include new Microflex Complete and Microflex Complete Wireless conference systems, and a new mini-shotgun microphone cartridge.
Both conference systems are available now, while the R180 mic cartridge is set to be released early this year.
SHURE MICROFLEX COMPLETE CONFERENCE SYSTEM
Shure has announced that its Microflex Complete (MXC) conferencing system is now available.
The integrated audio conferencing solution is designed to ensure that the audio in meetings runs smoothly, and is easily operated with its intuitive user interface and advanced productivity tools. The system is available for a variety of settings, such as government buildings, executive boardrooms, and educational environments.
Microflex Complete’s automatic or managed microphone activation modes allow flexibility, so meeting hosts can easily move between informal discussions or agenda-driven conferences and debates. The conferencing system also incorporates Microflex-based gooseneck microphones, loudspeakers, and advanced audio processing.
Microflex Complete is also able to support multilingual meetings (up to 31 interpretation channels) and accommodate up to 3,800 participants, offering optimal flexibility and control. Other features include electronic voting, agenda handling, flexible microphone control, and a companion electronic name sign for speaker identification.
“Clients have been interested in the concept of digital name signs for years, and now, Shure has released a product that really exceeds these expectations,” said Mark Breakspear, production manager, DLC Events, Dubai UAE. “The name sign looks fantastic on camera, and we love the fact that they link to the software so seamlessly, changing automatically when a delegate logs in to a microphone.”
MICROFLEX COMPLETE WIRELESS CONFERENCING SYSTEM
Shure has also released its Microflex Complete Wireless (MXCW) conferencing system. MXCW offers wireless freedom and flexibility for conferences, meetings, and events inside government, corporate, hotel, and educational facilities.
It is especially ideal for environments that need a quick set-up and breakdown – the wireless quality means IT managers and AV professionals can set up and configure the system in minutes – and for those that would prefer the lack of visible wiring. It also encourages natural interactions between participants as they can move and communicate without restraint.
The wireless conferencing units – which include a microphone, loudspeaker, interpretation audio, controls, and touchscreen – overcome cable restrictions for use in rooms that require adaptable seating, or in historic settings, where permanent installation (like tabletop drilling) is not an option.
“Straight out of the box, the system just works. With simply a laptop, a switch, the APT, and two cables – along with the mics – you have a top-of-the-range discussion system that has knocked the competition out of the park,” commented Breakspear. “Connect the APT to the PoE switch, turn the mics on, and, in less than a minute you have a functional discussion system – this product really sells itself.”
MXCW is supported by Shure’s Interference Detection and Avoidance technology for reliable transmission, even in the most congested RF environments. Coupled with AES-128 audio encryption for enhanced privacy and one single access point, integrators and AV professionals have real-time control over the entire wireless coverage area.
“The MXCW system is highly reliable, and this is something that convinced me right from the start. Another huge advantage is the Dante option, which allows our customers to integrate the Shure system seamlessly into their existing system environment,” said Matthias Scheffe, Ton and Technik scheffe nuembrecht, in Germany.
R189 MINI-SHOTGUN MICROPHONE CARTRIDGE
Today at ISE, Shure unveiled the R189 lobar mini-shotgun microphone cartridge that threads on to all of its Microflex goosenecks and overhead microphones, delivering intelligible speech.
The new R189 microphone cartridge features a narrow, directional pickup pattern that is ideal for isolating talkers in conference rooms and live presentations or performances where there is a sound reinforcement system. With slim dimensions (1 cm, 0.45” x 4.2”) and a subtle design, the R189 easily integrates with goosenecks on a table or lectern, and with hanging mics above a choir or ensemble.
“We specifically engineered the R189 microphone cartridge to provide our customers with an additional solution in our award-winning Microflex portfolio,” said Doug Daube, associate category director of Networked Systems at Shure. “In noisy or reverberant environments, a focused pickup pattern delivers superior audio quality, which is paramount for a good listener experience. When used in podium and table-top applications, these mics perform well from a distance, allowing them to be discreet while delivering remarks. The R189 design ensures that our customers can easily customise how they want to enhance existing Microflex installations.”
