QSC has expanded on its AcousticDesign Series with a new column surface-mount loudspeaker, the AD-S402T.

The new loudspeaker consists of four weather-treaded 2.5 inch transducers and is capable of 70 V / 100 V or eight ohm bypass loads.

“Column loudspeakers are ideal for highly reverberant rooms, or rooms with high ceilings that need a narrow vertical beam directed toward the ear of the listener,” said Travis Nie, product manager, Installed Loudspeakers, QSC. “In addition, they provide a more aesthetically pleasing look and blend with any environment. We designed the AcousticDesign Series column loudspeakers to address these needs while providing a more consistent listening experience with improved speech intelligibility.”

Each of the three AD Series column loudspeakers in this line (including the existing eight driver and sixteen driver models) feature Progressive Taper Topology (PTT), which provides a virtual curve for more precise directivity control. In addition, the entire line includes a mounting system with simple pan-and-tilt positioning, which has the power to reduce the amount of live load time.

The AcousticDesign Series loudspeakers offer a wide variety of sizes and enclosure types, including SUB/SAT, surface-mount, pendant-mount, and ceiling-mount.

QSC will debut the AD-S402T, along with the rest of the AcousticDesign Series of loudspeakers in its demo Room (W224B) at InfoComm 2019 in Orlando, Fl.
