What is it? An iPad, iPhone and iPod app designed to provide wireless remote control of the aux mixes of any FireWire-connected StudioLive mixer. Details Qmix allows up to ten musicians to simultaneously control their StudioLive monitor (aux) mixes: four individual mixes with a 16.0.2, six with a 16.4.2 and ten with a 24.4.2. One or more iPhones network wirelessly with a Mac or PC, enabling QMix to remote control Virtual StudioLive, which in turn controls one or more FireWire-connected StudioLive mixers. When each iPhone connects to the new network, its copy of QMix will discover all StudioLive mixers on the network, allowing each user to quickly and easily create an auxiliary mix that includes all mixer channels. QMix automatically syncs with the monitor (aux) channels on a StudioLive mixer via Universal Control 1.5.3. In the Virtual StudioLive portion of Universal Control, permissions can be set so that each user can only control one specified mix (or all mixes). In the ‘Me’ page it’s possible to select the mixer channels required to instantly control a personal monitor mix and also use the ‘Wheel of Me’ virtual thumbwheel that adjusts channel levels in relation to the rest of the monitor mix. If levels are pushed past Unity Gain level, QMix simply reduces the level of the other mix channels. And another thing… Aux mixes and individual channels can be named (up to 10 characters) in Qmix which can be used concurrently with an iPad running SL Remote.
