What is it?A range of compact VSL-series USB interfaces providing the dynamics and EQ processing of a StudioLive series mixer. DetailsThe AudioBox 22VSL, 44VSL and 1818VSL models all offer USB 2.0 interfacing with “tightly integrated” software and latency low enough to record and monitor - with processing - in real time. They incorporate high-headroom, Class-A XMAX preamps, 24-bit/96 kHz converters with 114dB dynamic range and headphone output. The design features zero-latency monitor mixing together with reverb and delay effects with dedicated effects buses and the same Fat Channel compression, limiting, 3-band EQ and high-pass filter found in the StudioLive 16.0.2 mixer. The bundled PreSonus Virtual StudioLive software allows processing to be carried out via the computer. It’s possible to record with real-time Fat Channel processing while monitoring (also with Fat Channel processing) and effects. VSL includes complete editor/librarian functions and over 50 Fat Channel processor presets. The 2-in/2-out AudioBox 22VSL is bus-powered and offers two combo mic/instrument inputs and balanced L/R outputs. It features two stereo effects buses with reverb, delay and Fat Channel dynamics processors, EQ and high-pass filtering on both inputs and both DAW returns. The 4-in/4-out AudioBox 44VSL combines the same basic features with an 8 x 4 software mixer while the AudioBox 1818VSL sports dual mic/instrument inputs and six mic/line inputs, all with XMAX preamps, 8-channel ADAT I/O, stereo S/PDIF I/O and word-clock output. With VSL software, it provides 26 x 18 ultra-low latency mixing with two stereo effects buses for the reverb and delay plus the Fat Channel processing from the StudioLive 16.0.2.
