Lab.gruppen and Lake have released the latest version of Lake Controller software (v5.7) along with accompanying firmware for both the PLM Powered Loudspeaker Management products and the LM 26 Digital Audio Loudspeaker Processor. Engineers from both parties have taken a leap forwards with this latest release, which is designed to offer maximum flexibility and compatibility for end users, optimising system audio performance. PLM Series products now support a new processing module type which is said to improve functionality significantly. The filtering can be used to create driver and crossover EQ, facilitating linear phase, minimum phase, or arbitrary phase filters – all of which can be used to create classic crossovers and specific driver EQ. The new module also supports EAW Focusing through the direct recall of EAW Greybox files into any PLM Series device via the Lake Controller software, uniting EAW Focusing parameters with Lake Mesa EQ input stage on the PLM Series platform for the first time, offering a fully integrated system solution for sound reinforcement. Greybox output processing files can now be recalled directly into PLM Series and users have the ability to tune even the largest EAW loudspeaker system at any granularity, all via the Lake Controller, and without a separate system EQ processor. “These updates represent the greatest leap forward in terms of innovation that Lake has witnessed since the company moved to Sweden in 2009,” says Hakan Gustafsson, Lake’s product manager. “The supporting of EAW Focusing, coupled with the Lake Mesa EQ and the powerful performance of the PLM Series means we can provide the end user with the kind of functionality that is simply unrivalled in the world of pro-audio.” This is the second Lab.gruppen/Lake collaboration of the year; the manufacturers recently teamed up with Turbosound and Audinate to work on the new 4-channel 20000Q power amplifier, which combines Dante technology and DSP Lake functionality.

Lake updates Controller software

The latest version, v5.6, features several developments to both the Lake Controller software and included firmware for the LM 26 Digital Audio Loudspeaker Processor and Lab.gruppen PLM Series Powered Loudspeaker Management products.
