The SoundPro expo will be held at the Ealing Town Hall in west London on Saturday, September 24, with an informal table-top exhibition of manufacturers, dealers, distributors and service providers.
The event is targeted at location recordists, production sound operators, freelancers and audio pros in TV, radio, film, post-production, live events and games.
Exhibitors include Sound Network, Calrec, Cedar Audio, Audio Developments, Sonifex, PMC, CB Electronics, Raycom, Rycote, Sennheiser, Reinhardt, Soundkit, Audio Wireless, ioCo, Richmond Film Services, SoundCart, BCD Audio, BECTU, Audio Related Technology, Zoom, Hawk-Woods, Timecode Systems, GiantSound (Aaton), IPS and Mic Booster.
A number of seminars are also being held, including a presentation by Yamaha's Wayne Powell on Audio Networking Protocols including Dante, AVB and Ethersound, and the workflow improvements delivered by using networking.
Freelance re-recording engineer and post production sound designer Mike Aiton will present 'From sound recordist to post - let's open the dialogue' examining the process of audio production for broadcast and film, from mic choices and live audio capture to what should (and should not) be attempted in post production.
Sound recordist and engineer Rodney Wilkins will look back at audio's technological foundations and suggest how engineers today can employ these techniques for smooth running projects in his presentation: 'When foundations fade'.
Entry is free and the event is on from 11am to 5pm.
