Matrix Group expands in pro audio push

Three major players in the Danish pro audio and entertainment industry have joined the new Matrix Group, which aims to become one of the industry’s leading product suppliers, writes Paul Watson

The Matrix Group has added Moto Audio Sales, Nordic Sales & Staging, and Signal Audio to its workforce in a bid to become more dynamic and make a serious mark on the pro audio industry. The Matrix Group’s chairman, Claus Reher-Langberg, is confident that the group will become a market leader by becoming a facility house with the right people and the best product lines. “The investment behind Matrix Group is done on a solid capital base,” he insists, “and we will become a major player in the industry. We have worked on this for a long time and the companies we have brought into the group are a future investment.” In joining, the Matrix Group believes that each of the new companies will benefit from the added strength of joint management, economy and administration. Moto Audio Sales provides live pro audio solutions (recent project in Radio Concert Hall in Copenhagen pictured) and has been established for more than thirty years; Nordic Sales & Lighting specialises in AV, lighting, sound and staging, and has been running for more than fifteen years; and Signal Audio handles distribution, and although just a year old, recently secured exclusive distribution rights for the Proel Group in Denmark. The Matrix Group also distributes for Midas and Klark-Teknik as of January 2011. Commercial audio, distribution, and large scale turnkey projects are key target areas within the group; and its portfolio of products already includes L-Acoustics, Adamson, Aviom and ButtKicker to name a few. On top of this, the group is involved in the sub-distribution or certified dealership with brands such as TC Electronics, Avid, Sennheiser, DPA and Yamaha. In addition, the group will connect international buyers and sellers of second-hand pro audio, lighting, staging and AV equipment using a large network within Europe via a specialised website dedicated to second-hand sales. “For me personally, this is a dream come true,” says Matrix Group’s CEO Lars Bo Baadsgaard. “And I am looking forward to introducing the Matrix Group to the market segment and expanding it.” www.matrixgroup.dkwww.motoaudiosales.dkwww.nordicsales.dk
