Martin Audio’s MLA system played to more than 5,000 rock fans in Russia at the Nashvill festival last month.
Crowds and crews faced difficult weather conditions as rain battered down on the Trud Stadium in Nizhniy-Novgorod, with headline sets from Murniy Troll, Spleen and Animal Jazz.
Sound and lighting systems were supplied by Citysound, which required “detailed and powerful sound throughout the festival grounds”.
Technical director Igor Sobolev continued: “What I really like about this festival is that it is a challenging one. This year we had several quite demanding acts on the main stage coupled with constantly changing weather conditions, which included gusts of wind and rain.
“But with Martin Audio there was never a problem – MLA easily passed all these tests once again, delivering exceptional sound performance.”
The PA design was based around main stage hangs featuring 11 MLA plus an MLD downfill on each side, while 12 MLX subwoofers were placed in front of the stage and four W8LC were used as frontfills. The stage monitoring system consisted of 16 LE1500 monitors and four W8LM Mini line lrray elements, plus a pair of WS218X subs per side as sidefills.
“The audience left the stadium completely satisfied,” concluded Ilya Trifonov, Citysound stage manager. “It was an excellent festival with impeccable sound and lighting. All we heard was extremely positive feedback from the artists, plus the smiles on the audience’s faces – which was the most important reward for us.”
