What is it?A powered subwoofer designed to add low-frequency extension to the Mackie SRM450v2 and other powered speakers. DetailsThe SRM1801 delivers 1000W (peak) via Class-D ‘Fast Recovery’ amplification. The amplifier is described as “ultra-efficient” and along with the lightweight switch-mode power supply, helps drastically reduces the subwoofer’s weight. The design includes built-in active circuitry including a precision 125Hz crossover and tuning filters for accurate bass response. Also included are what Mackie describe as “user-friendly features” such as high-pass and full-range outputs for stereo operation with a single sub. A polarity switch allows phase alignment of the SRM1801 with full-range speakers and dual XLR inputs are included for mono or stereo applications. The 18” woofer uses a ferrite magnet with a 3-inch voice coil and is housed in a ported bass reflex enclosure designed to offer a tight low end down to 35Hz. This also contributes to the speaker’s light weight and portability without compromising power and performance. An integrated pole cup is designed to accommodate a standard mounting pole, allowing it to be paired with Mackie SRM450v2 or TH-15a enclosures in high-powered, high-definition sound reinforcement systems for small to medium-size clubs, band PA systems and other applications.
