The first permanent installation of the JBL VTX V20 line array system was recently carried out at the Effenaar in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Founded in 1971 and located in the city center of Eindhoven, the Effenaar is renowned for hosting world-famous acts as well as local talent.
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joan Wasser, who, since 2002 has performed under the name Joan as Police Woman, was the first performer to test out the JBL VTX V20. The new system was supplied to the Effenaar by Audio XL, Harman’s Benelux-based distributor.
The new PA system features a left-right configuration of five V20 line array elements per side, accompanied by three S25 subwoofers per side. Seven I-Tech 4×3500 HD amplifiers power the system, which also features two JBL STX835 loudspeakers. The venue also features a Soundcraft Vi6 digital console, two Vi4 digital consoles and JBL PRX portable PA loudspeakers.
Charles Konings, technical production manager at the Effenaar, says: “The Effenaar chose the new JBL V20 because we first heard its big brother, the V25, and were very impressed. We think JBL took a big leap forward in designing the VTX Series.”
