What is it? A large-format surround speaker designed for high power handling, extended bass response and wide dynamic range in professional cinema applications. Details The 2-way 9320 houses a 12″ MB12-8 LF driver and 2408H-1 HF compression unit. A large JBL progressive transition rotatable waveguide offers 120º x 60º coverage and smooth frequency response with the loudspeaker mounted horizontally or vertically. Designed for venues where higher volume and a larger coverage area is needed from the surround loudspeakers (especially in multichannel systems), the 9320 is said to deliver “clear, powerful and articulate sound” to create an immersive movie theatre listening experience. The high-excursion, heavy-duty MB12-8 LF driver provides high power-handling capability and bass extension while the 2408H-1HF compression unit is said to deliver exceptional clarity and resolution when mated with JBL’s Progressive Transition Waveguide. This offers constant beamwidth and directivity across a 120º (H) x 60º (V) coverage pattern along with smoother frequency response and a more seamless blend with the woofer. The enclosure is fitted with M10 threaded mounting points on the top and sides to facilitate U-bracket mounting. In addition, four M10 mounting points are located at the rear, arranged in a standard pattern to accept a variety of multi-mount brackets. And another thing… The 9320 enclosure is constructed from multi-ply birch and heavily braced to maximize low-frequency performance. Protection is provided by a DuraFlex finish with steel grilles over the drivers.
