Ingramsounds entrusts KV2 for inspiring events

Since purchasing his first set of EX 6’s, Ingramsound has continued to invest in KV2 and now counts the ultra compact EX 1.2 subwoofer and EX 12 speakers amongst others in its hire stock.

Newcastle-based AV hire specialists Ingramsounds have built up a sizeable hire inventory of KV2 Audio’s EX Series. Since purchasing his first set of EX 6’s owner Reed Ingram Weir has continued to invest in KV2 and now counts the ultra compact EX 1.2 12” subwoofer and 2-way 12” with large format NVPD 3” compression driver EX 12 amongst others in his hire stock. Of the many events Ingramsounds has deployed the EX Series, several held in the incredible surroundings of Durham Cathedral stand out. As part of the Durham book festival Weird used 8 EX 6’s delayed throughout the cathedral. “Murder in the Cathedral” saw renowned crime writers Ian Rankin and PD James discuss their work and crime writing in general. In a separate event Roger McGlough read from his latest collection As Far As I Know. “The Cathedral presents certain acoustic challenges with large reverb times of five plus seconds it can be hard to produce intelligible vocal reproduction. I find EX 6’s are an excellent solution when used delayed throughout the Cathedral. They are also a discreet solution with their compact size and easy rigging options” said Weir. Another hugely successful event held in the Cathedral saw The Unthanks, Lindisfarne Story and The Futureheads play live as part of The Journal Culture Awards. The requirement for full band performance lead Reed to specify an alternative loudspeaker configuration “We used a total of 12 EX cabinets on independent matrixes all time aligned in stereo pairs up the pillars of the Cathedral. Three pairs of our EX 12’s handled the bulk of the audio with a further two pairs of EX 6’s handling in fill duties and the gig sounded great.”
