On Saturday 26 September, Pope Francis visited the Festival of Families in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Chosen to capture the infallible Bishop of Rome's audio was an Audio-Technica AE6100 Artist Elite hypercardioid dynamic handheld microphone, custom-painted white by Audio-Technica especially for the occasion (pictured).

The last time the successor to St Peter, holder of the keys to Heaven, appeared in PSNEurope was on a visit to Naples in May, during which His Holiness celebrated mass in Piazza del Plebiscito, the city’s main square, with a reported congregation of 60,000. Sound reinforcement for the sovereign of the Vatican City State's sermon was provided by Dee Jay Service and featured an all-Outline rig (see Outline spreads the word in Naples).
