Steerable line array system

What is it?A range of electronically-steerable, active line array systems developed for both mobile and permanent installation applications in theatres, concert halls, cathedrals, conference centres and other public spaces.DetailsThe Focus Modular range currently includes three active systems: the FM/FMI-100 HF and FM/FMI-110 HF modules (respectively) housing eight and 16 1” compression drivers fitted with horns and waveguides and the FM/FMI-400 - an LF-mid-range module fitted with 32 4” long-excursion drivers. The enclosures incorporate multi-channel Class-D amplifiers and integrated DSP processing for beam steering and access to parametric 10-band EQ, compression/limiting/gating, delay, crossover, status and temperature monitoring. A sweep-frequency and pink noise generator is also included for setting up together with algorithms designed to provide maximum protection for each driver. Using the same beam steering technology featured on all Focus Series models, it’s possible to make real-time, 0.1º increment adjustments of vertical sound inclination angle over a -40°/+40° range and vertical beam width between 0° and 90° - the dual-beam design offering simultaneous coverage of different areas of the audience. The acoustic centre of the individual beams can be adjusted in real time and set at any point of the speaker’s line length with high-pass filtering can be applied separately to each beam, if required. A specially-developed algorithm is also included to suppress any unwanted side lobes in the beam. And another thing…Focus Modular systems can be networked and remotely controlled in real time via Fohhn’s Audio Soft control software.
