Download kicks off Peavey’s Jager fest

Peavey kitted out Download Festival’s Jagermeister stage with a full Versarray 212 system and will continue to provide PAs to Jagermeister stages up and down the country, writes Paul Watson.

On June 10th-12th Download Festival (pictured) became one of the first European festivals ever to be kitted out with a full Peavey Versarray 212 system. The manufacturer will now provide systems for a host of Jagermeister stages at a number of the UK’s top summer festivals. Last September PSNe-Live reported on Peavey’s blossoming relationship with Jagermeister UK after the manufacturer kitted out its Jagermeister stage at Ozzfest in London’s O2 Arena with a smaller Versarray 112 system; and since then it seems the partnership has gone from strength to strength. The core stage set-up now includes two hangs of Versarray 212s, Versarray 218 subs, and Crest CV-20 56 Premium and HP-Eight (40 frame) consoles at FOH and monitor position respectively; everything is powered by Crest Pro 9200 and 7200 amps. Peavey’s technical manager Jock Shannon says the success of the 212 system on the Agora stage at Frankurt’s Musikmesse earlier this year made it a logical choice for the summer festivals. “Last year we used a Versarray 112 system, but with the rise in profile of the stage, along with the quality of the bands, it was essential to have a system to match this,” he explains. “The Versarray 212 provides sufficient power and headroom to fully compliment the quality of musicians playing on the stage.” Upcoming Peavey/Jagermeister collaborations this year include Sonisphere at Knebworth Park, Splendour Festival in Nottingham, and Kent’s Hevy Festival, where the Jagermeister stage is the main stage. www.peavey-eu.comwww.jagermeister.comwww.crestaudio.com
