Ipswich-based events hire company DHE Professional have invested in HK Audio's flagship COHEDRA line array system, distributed exclusively in the UK and ROI by John Hornby Skewes & Co. (JHS). DHE, who provide a wide range of event services including power, stage and barrier hire through to catwalk, AV, lighting and crew hire, have purchased a complete COHEDRA ‘2 x 8’ system, comprising 16 x CDR208 mid-hi enclosures and 16 x CDR210S subs, powered by two PR16-LG amp racks, each loaded with two Lab.gruppen FP10000Q power amps and an HK Audio FIRNET controller. DHE proprietor Gavin Mathias and general manager Matt Suttle opted for COHEDRA as they needed a system that would give them the flexibility to handle their varied weekly events schedule, including proms, opera performances, and mid-sized festivals. The company first demoed the system at a racecourse festival headlined by The Wanted and McFly, attended by 15,000 fans. Since then it has been deployed for artists including Alesha Dixon, Beverley Knight, Ms. Dynamite, Starsailor, Newton Faulkner and The Charlatans to name a few. According to Suttle, the COHEDRA system “gets very good feedback all the time” from the artists’ engineers. “The COHEDRA was the next step for us. We reached the limit of what our existing system could do, and we’re moving into bigger things now. It’s a natural progression for us,” said Suttle. “I’ve used a lot of big brand 2x 8 systems which cost three, four times the amount of money, and I don’t think I or anyone else could tell you the difference or justify the extra cost. It is up there with them all.” Karl Bates, JHS's pro audio sales manager said: “I am very pleased and excited to see that DHE made the choice to invest in the COHEDRA. Sound companies have a wide choice when it comes to purchasing a line array system; COHEDRA is an excellent sounding speaker array that easily equals other high end brands out there, but for a significantly smaller investment cost. DHE have already used the rig this year during their busy summer, and I'm sure there will be huge demands for its services in the months and years to come!” www.dheprofessional.co.ukwww.hkaudio.comwww.jhs.co.uk
