d&b audiotechnik's KSL System, the latest addition to the SL series has been awarded the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019.
In an on-site evaluation marathon with around 5500 entries, 40 international experts from the Red Dot Jury, based in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, determined the best products created this year. Evaluation criteria included the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, self-explanatory quality and ecological compatibility.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design dates back to 1955, and appraises the design quality in 48 categories every year.
In 2014, d&b audiotechnik received a Red Dot Award for the first time for its D80 amplifier, which also happens to be an ideal partner for the newly crowned KSL System.
The Red Dot is already the second design award for the SL-Series, which includes KSL as well as its sister GSL. In 2018, GSL was awarded the Focus Open Gold, the international design award conferred by the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Another Red Dot Product Design winner this year is DPA's d:fine CORE 6066 microphone.
