What is it? A pendant speaker from Community Professional’s high-performance Distributed Design Series of ceiling, surface mount and pendant speakers. Details Available in paintable white or black, the DP8 is a high-performance, 8″ coaxial speaker with an attractive tapered style designed to complement modern open-architecture environments while delivering highly-intelligible voice and enhanced musical sound quality for a broad range of venues and commercial environments. The DP8 benefits from Distributed Design Series’ Uniform Voicing feature which ensures identical acoustic performance from all similar-size pendant, ceiling and surface-mount models in all spaces, regardless of speaker type. According to Community, patrons moving from space to space would hear little or no change in music or voice quality. The DP8’s shared coaxial transducer features a separate compression driver coupled to Community’s proprietary Tru-Phase waveguide and mounted on the 8″ woofer using its Carbon-Ring Cone technology. For system designers and installers, the DP8 is ETL listed to comply with UL1480 and includes a 120W autoformer with easy-access tap switch for 70V/100V distributed systems and features a simple suspension and wiring system inside its integrated rear cover. With its weather-resistant enclosure, grille and components, the DP8 may also be used outdoors in covered locations. And another thing… Two Distributed Design Series subwoofers – the DS8SUB (surface-mount) and DS10SUB (ceiling-mount) – are also available to extend frequency coverage of a DP8 system.
