Blitzing the opposition secures O2 deal

After an extensive pitch process involving a host of Staging and AV companies The O2 has chosen Blitz Communications as its sole corporate supplier, writes Paul Watson

As well as the sizeable O2 Arena, the venue includes the Indigo2, Cineworld cinemas, London Piazza, Proud2, and the British Musical Experience (BME) to name a few; and can cater for any type of event, from a handful to tens of thousands. Blitz Communications plans on working closely with the O2 events team bringing in a number of its specialists in audio, set & stage design, lighting, digital media and graphics to generate a fully integrated event staging solution for its clients. Senior sales manager at the O2 Jennie Double says it’s a partnership that will generate new ideas: “Our investment in the wide array of event spaces combined with Blitz’s fresh thinking and innovative technology will ensure that clients always get a memorable experience at the O2.” Munir Samji, chairman at Blitz Communications, says his firm greatly values this unique working opportunity. “We have been working as the preferred partner to Manchester Central, ExCeL London and Earls Court & Olympia for many years,” he explains. “And we have developed expertise and products best suited to each venue; which we will now bring to The O2.” www.blitzcommunications.co.ukwww.theo2.co.uk
