German audio specialist beyerdynamic has opened a new pro-audio chapter with the introduction of a new line of 25 top quality Touring Gear (TG) microphones designed purely for live applications. There are four TG categories: TG 30 is an entry level series targeted at users on a smaller budget; the TG 50 covers all live applications and features higher quality sound and better tonal characteristics; the TG 70 series is ‘first class’ according to the manufacture, and goes a step further with more advanced technical characteristics and higher quality materials; and TG 90 is at the top of the Touring Gear tree, boasting the unique TG V90r ribbon microphone and the TG V96c true condenser in its series, and is targeted at users looking for the ultimate in microphone performance. Each of the vocal (V), headset (H), lavalier (L), drum (D) and instrument (I) microphones in the Touring Gear range feature the manufacturer’s new Sound Channelling Technology. beyerdynamic’s audio products development manager Mario Gebhardt says it’s a highlight when decades of experience in microphone engineering can result in a series of microphones rather than just a single product: “Our goal was to retain the best elements from our existing models and combine these with the latest technology and materials,” he explains. “At the same time, we have made space for new ideas and implemented them; the result is a thoroughly consistent live microphone series.” www.beyerdynamic.com
