Adlib’s specialist sales division has sold a complete L-Acoustics Kara PA system along with SB18 and SB28 subwoofers, LA8 amplifiers, and a full set of Adlib-designed flight cases to Newcastle based rental company Nitelites. Nitelites is a well established rental company, which Adlib already has a long standing working relationship which, particularly over the last seven years, which has seen healthy cross rental traffic in equipment, as well as the exchange of knowledge and resources. The sale comprised 24 Kara loudspeakers, 8 SB18 subwoofers, 8 SB28 subwoofers, eight LA8 amplifiers, and the custom flight cases; and was co-ordinated by Nick Turner of Adlib Sales and Nitelites’ two directors: Jamie Moore and Andy Magee. Nitelites required a flexible PA solution that would work for a string of applications: from corporate work to rock and roll, as well as classical concerts and theatre productions; and the company regularly supplies sound to 2,500-capacity venues, for which Kara is perfectly suited. “We have enjoyed collaborating with Adlib for some time,” says Moore. “And as they became one of the largest L-Acoustics rental houses in the UK, it made sense for us to buy into the brand.” Moore and Magee were taught the basics of the Kara system by Adlib’s George Puttock, and have since undergone the full L-Acoustics induction in France. The Nineties system went out on its first gig just a couple of days after it was delivered and its first tour is the UK leg of the popular Australian children’s band The Wiggles. Several more shows and events have been confirmed, and the rig will be deployed along with additional L-Acoustics kit from Adlib at the Mouth of Tyne Festival in Newcastle as well as a classical spectacular for 20,000 people at Glamis Castle in Perthshire, Scotland. In other L-Acoustics news, US rental company Precise Corporate Staging (PCS) of Tempe, Arizona, has recently added to its L-Acoustics inventory with the addition of 24 KUDOs, 24 SB28 subs, and six LA-RAK touring amplifier racks to help accommodate the busy summer festival schedule of PCS’s new entertainment division. “With 30 V-DOSC already in our inventory, we had enough boxes to do main PA hangs for most outdoor shows, but previously had to cross-rent additional V-DOSC for outfill,” explains PCS President David Stern. “This year, we switched over to KUDO for outfill, beefed up our subs to SB28, and got LA8 amplified controllers for digital distribution as well as improved processing and control.” www.adlibsolutions.co.uk
