ITALY: Three of Yamaha’s disciplines – motorcycles, musical instruments and pro-audio – are represented at the Red Point Caf_, reports David Davies. Established to celebrate Yamaha motorcycles, Red Point Caf_ in Milan features a comprehensive specification of Yamaha speakers, amplifiers and instruments.
Installed by Stefano Papetti of Cavenago-based Audio Progetti, the Red Point Caf_ set-up includes Installation Series loudspeakers, XP5000 and XP7000 power amplifiers, a CDC697BR CD player, a TX497BR AM/FM tuner, five Tenori-On instruments, an RGX-A2 electric guitar, an SVC110 Silent Cello, a TSX-130 desktop audio system, a F11 digital piano and two wireless microphones.
All audio sources are mixed with the new Installation Series IMX644 rackmount mixer, of which Papetti observes: “The IMX644 was the ideal mixer for this installation because of its technical flexibility. I was able to use the unit’s internal presets to manage all of the loudspeakers, meaning that there was no need for a separate crossover unit.”
