TL Audio brand to restructure

TL Audio Ltd has this morning revealed moves regarding the future of the brand, following PSNE's revelation yesterday that the company had ceased trading and filed for insolvency, writes Dave Robinson.

TL Audio Ltd has this morning revealed moves regarding the future of the brand, following our revelation yesterday that the company had ceased trading and filed for insolvency.

In a press statement, TL Audio, the Hertfordshire-based developer of valve and outboard and mixing consoles, said: “Shortage of product to fulfil customer needs, caused by the recent closure of TL Audio’s UK factory and delays in moving to a new manufacturing facility, has been a contributory factor leading to the financial pressures that have made it necessary to call a halt to current business activities.”

TL Audio founder Tony Larking added: “We are obviously disappointed, but believe that there is a future for the TLA brand and we expect products to be available again later in the year.”

Larking began producing his own audio devices in 1990 following a period spent restoring and re-selling vintage recording consoles. Popular lines from the company have included the Classic, Ebony and Ivory series of EQs, compressors and processors, the Fatboy preset compressors, the M4 Tube Console and the acclaimed VTC analogue mixer (pictured).

The recently launched Fatman range of hi-fi products is unaffected by the latest development, says the company. In the meantime, spares and support for current TL Audio product owners continues to be available via the ‘Support’ area of the TL Audio website.

Notice of insolvency for the Hertfordshire-based developer of valve and outboard and mixing consoles was published by the London Gazette on 25 January. Harris Lipman LLP has been appointed liquidator. A meeting of creditors of will be held at 2 Mountview Court, 310 Friern Barnet Lane, Whetstone, London, N20 0YZ, on 13 February 2012, at noon.
