This was arguably the most important Frankfurt for Studiomaster in decades, writes Phil Ward. The brand dates back to 1976, establishing itself through an era in which home recording and powerful live sound packages were the order of the day, and when artists from Pete Townshend and Phil Collins to Spandau Ballet would pose cheerfully for the trade press advertisements.
Reviving this heritage within a thoroughly modern infrastructure has defined Studiomaster’s recent activities. There are digital products, of course. There is Chinese ownership and manufacturing. And there are synergies with market levels high and low as a reorganised group emerges from the uncertain times that have affected everyone.
