Focal celebrated its 40th anniversary with the launch of Solo6 Be 40, a special edition version of its active monitor Made In France Solo6 Be in a black leather-effect finish with a ’40th anniversary’ stamp.
The company began in 1979 as a family precision mechanics business in Saint-Étienne, France, that established the first workshop for manufacturing speaker drivers. Now, Focal has made a global impression in the audio industry.
Solo6 Be is a two-way monitor recognised for its extended frequency response in the bass ratio, the fullness of its mid-bass and its bass control. It has a frequency response of 40Hz – 40kHz and a maximum SPL of 113 dB that peaks at 1m. Its dimensions are 13 x 97/16 x 117/16″(330mm x 240mm x 290mm) and it weighs in at a very light 24.2lb.
Behind this new ‘finish’ lies Focal’s Beryllium inverted dome tweeter, capable of reproducing high frequencies with a high degree of purity and transparency, and a bass/mid driver composed of the company’s ‘W’ composite sandwich cone. The bass/mid power stage in Solo6 Be 40th is fine-tuned using BASH technology, which delivers class AB sound quality combined with the efficiency of class D amplifiers.
The Solo6 Be 40 will become available this month.
