What is it?A multi-standard broadcast quality synchroniser, noise reducer and time base stabilizer with SDI, DV, composite and YC interfaces. DetailsThe TBS190 provides four-channel (two pair) embedded audio processing as well as options for balanced/unbalanced AES. It features 12-bit sampling, 10-bit processing and “rugged” inputs and is said to be equally suited to digitising both broadcast grade sources and unstable, noisy sources. Applications include universal analogue/digital interfacing, audio embedding and extraction, satellite down-link and radio links, ingest/PC capture pre-processing, duplication, VHS dubbing and format conversion. The range includes three versions of the TBS190D with SDI, Y/C and composite video supporting embedded audio and either balanced AES, unbalanced AES or analogue audio. Also available in three versions is the TBS190DV with DV, SDI, Y/C and composite video, again supporting embedded audio and either balanced AES, unbalanced AES or analogue audio. All models are housed in a compact half-rack cabinet with external DC input for redundant PSU capability and offering remote control capability via Ethernet. The TBS190 offers video inputs for PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J, NTSC4.4, PAL-N, PAL-M and SECAM (with automatic input detection); outputs are PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J, PAL-N and PAL-M. Other features include adaptive, recursive noise reduction with automatic noise level detection, 12-bit encoding, 12-bit decoding (with five-line comb filtering), seamless PCM audio tracking delay with manual offset (up to 2.5s), pass-through for all HANC/VANC data and a genlock ‘floating mode’.
