Roland R-1000

Live audio player/recorder

What is it?A dedicated, 48-track audio recorder and player for use in live events and productions. DetailsThe R-1000 is stand-alone unit designed to work with the V-Mixing System but which can be used with any digital console with MADI output capabilities by means of the Roland S-MADI REAC MADI Bridge. Based on REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) technology, the R-1000 is designed to eliminate the bulk and the noise susceptibility usually associated with analogue snakes by using Cat5e/6 (Ethernet/LAN) cable. Said to be ideal for virtual sound checks, rehearsals, play and training applications, the unit records in standard broadcast WAV format and up to 48 tracks of 24-bit audio in BWF format. A removable 500GB hard disk drive ensures smooth integration with DAWs and provides approximately 20 hours recording at 44.1/48kHz.
Multitrack playback facilities make the R-1000 suitable for a variety of applications; the unit plays up to 48 tracks of 24-bit audio via REAC. Data can be loaded from external devices and a marker function is included to enable playback at any designated point. The unit also includes analogue monitor and headphone outputs and can connect with any V-Mixer and for control directly from the console. A versatile feature set includes video sync, timecode, GPI and RS-232C ports plus USB connection for data back-up and PC software control.
