PRO6 gets a Mega-push in Germany

Two top German rental companies have invested in Midas PRO6 live audio systems through distributor Mega Audio, writes Paul Watson

Leading rental companies RAIN AGE and Go Audio Rental have added Midas PRO6 live audio systems to their stock, purchased through fellow-Germans and Midas’ distributor Mega Audio. Pascal John, managing director of Bavaria-headquartered RAIN AGE, has been a fan of Midas consoles since using the older XL200 and XL250 models; and still has two Heritage 3000s in his stable. Head of audio and lighting at RAIN AGE Marin Heining has been keen to acquire the PRO6 since first setting eyes on one in 2008 at Midas’ factory in Kidderminster; and its first outing will be with German rock band Sportfreunde Stiller on their upcoming 14-date tour which kicks off in Luxembourg on 22nd November and finishes in Munich in December.
“It didn’t even have a name then, but I knew it was the future,” says Heining. “In our opinion, the PRO6 will become a worldwide audio standard.” The same sentiment is offered by managing director of north-west Rhineland-headquartered Go Audio Rental, Bernd Wittenberg, who describes the PRO6 as the next ‘first choice’ console. GAR’s PRO6 is already out on the road with Finnish orchestral rock act Apocalyptica, who are currently on the US and Canadian legs of their world tour promoting their new album 7th Symphony. “I was interested in trying out the PRO6 after a great experience with an XL8 I used for one show in Poland,” says Michael Bauer (pictured), Apocalyptica’s FOH engineer. “There’s no doubt that this is an excellent sounding board.”
