PLASA 2012 is reporting a ‘massive increase’ in visitor registration for the event happening at Earls Court Exhibition Centre on 9-12 September. Over 11,000 people have already signed up, a 40% increase in registrations compared to this time last year. It is a busy year for live sound in London and the UK this year thanks in no small part to the London 2012 Olympics. PLASA events manager, Sophie Atkinson, commented, “The record breaking surge in pre-registrations for the show this year is enormously encouraging and goes to show that people want to come to PLASA 2012 to reflect on their industry’s input in the 2012 Olympic story and experience the unique atmosphere in London.” PLASA 2012 is already anticipating new launches from companies such as Nexo, Martin Audio, Yamaha and Funktion One. In addition, a brand new audio professional development programme is also being launched this year, further details of which will be unveiled in the coming weeks. “We’re working on plans now for our largest Professional Development Programme to date which will bring industry issues to life with an emphasis on international projects, a celebration of the Olympics and a dedicated pro audio stream,” explained Atkinson. “With almost 80% of the floor space already booked we’re anticipating a phenomenally busy show this year and PLASA 2012 is set to be a very exciting place to be.” Pre-register is available now, with entry to the entire four-day event at only £10 – a saving of 50% on the full price of £20. www.plasashow.com
