Music Live 2010 postponed

Show director Tiffany Pritchard says that Clarion is "dedicated to the future development of Music Live" and will reveal "exciting plans" for the 2011 event later in the year.

The organiser cites the “congested MI autumn 2010 show schedule” in explaining its decision to pull this year’s event. The 2010 edition of Music Live had been due to take place at the NEC in Birmingham from 4-7 November, but now organiser Clarion Events has said that the event will return in a “new form” in 2011.

In addition to the crowded MI event season, Clarion also alluded to the “continuing financial pressures” confronting potential exhibitors. Nonetheless, it “remains committed” to the show and is due to reveal plans for Music Live 2011 by year’s end.

“We are dedicated to the future development of Music Live, and to our intention of delivering an all-encompassing music show projecting great innovation through music technology combined with a broadening of musical content,” said show director Tiffany Pritchard. “However, we have taken the view that 2010 will be not the right time to launch the new style Music Live on the scale it deserves. I’d like to thank exhibitors for their support for the UK’s longest-running music-making event over the last ten years and look forward to unveiling our exciting plans for Music Live 2011 later in the year.”
