After two years at the Cafe de Paris, the next MPG Awards will take place at another central London venue – Floridita – on 9 February 2011.
Situated on Wardour Street, Floridita is acclaimed for its evocation of ‘30s-style glamour. The popular venue will also allow the Awards to accommodate more attendees.
Steve Levine (pictured), chairman of the Music Producers Guild, commented: “After two highly successful years at the Cafe de Paris, we felt the time had come to move our Awards to a larger venue that could accommodate more guests. Feedback from previous years indicated that many of the people attending would prefer to be seated at tables. By moving to Floridita we are now in a position to respond to these requests. Floridita is an exceptional venue and we are anticipating a fantastic event.”
Once again, the MPG is collaborating with the BRITS to present the winner of its Producer of the Year category with a BRIT Award for Best Producer. The other categories are as follows: Outstanding Contribution to UK Music, Producer of the Year, Recording Engineer of the Year, Best Mastering Engineer, Best Mix Engineer, Best Live Album of The Year (2010), UK Album of The Year (2010), UK Single of The Year (2010), Best Re-mixer, the Joe Meek Award for Innovation in Production, Breakthrough Producer, Breakthrough Engineer, Best Studio, Best International Producer of the Year and Unsung Hero.
